GEM Download Manager

IMPORTANT NOTE: The download list is not being maintained any more, and has not been updated since mid-2000. It is quite likely that many of the links will be broken.

I have created a GEM Download Manager which downloads a list of files from a server, and juggles it all about to produce a nice, friendly list of files, of which you can download easily.

It is written in Visual Basic 4.0. At present only the source and compiled binary are here, and that's probably not going to change in the near future. I may build a Visual Basic 6.0 version of it, or I may just get rid of the whole thing altogether.

IMPORTANT UPDATE: The download manager may not work or may get an out-dated download list unless you do the following: open the URL.TXT file with a text editor, and replace whatever may be in the file with a single line: http://www.owenrudge.net/GEM/downlist.txt.

Windows 3.x version

I have started work on porting the Download Manager to work under Windows 3.x. You may be able to download an early version soon. [Update (7th December 2003): Disregard that last statement. There will probably never be a Windows 3.x version]. Still no version for GEM, of course...
